General Questions
How do I catch bugs in Catch Bugs?
Use your net tool by clicking (left mouse button) on bugs in the world. Timing and positioning matter - approach bugs carefully and swing when they're in range. Better nets increase your catch success rate and can handle heavier bugs.
How do I get better nets?
Purchase nets from shops in each biome using coins you earn from selling caught bugs. Early game nets cost only a few hundred coins, but late-game nets like the Dark Matter Net cost 35 million coins. Use our Net Calculator to plan your upgrade path.
What is the Vivarium?
The Vivarium is your passive income system. Place high-value bugs inside to generate coins over time, even when you're offline. Key rules: Never put Common or Uncommon bugs in your Vivarium - they waste valuable slots. Keep Rare+ bugs for Vivarium. Mutated bugs generate significantly more income.
How do mutations work?
When catching a bug, there's a base 1 in 90 chance it will mutate. Mutations multiply the bug's value by 1.3x (Barren) to 3.25x (Evil). During weather events, the mutation chance becomes 1 in 3 for that weather's specific mutation type. Stack boosters like potions and lures for best results.
Rare & Supreme Questions
What is the rarest bug in Catch Bugs?
Supreme bugs like the Ant God and Sand Worm have approximately 1 in 20,000,000 spawn rates, making them the rarest. These bugs are so rare that catching one would take 231+ days of continuous catching at 1 catch per second.
How do I find Legendary bugs?
Legendary bugs emit a glow at night, making them easier to spot against the dark skybox. Focus on Jungle and higher biomes for Legendary spawns. Use lures like the Diamond Lure to increase heavy catch rates. Consider the Extra Luck gamepass for better odds.
Secret Areas & Progression
How do I access secret areas like The Hollow?
The Hollow requires you to deliver 10 Forest biome bugs to the Hollow Keeper, then wait until exactly 6:30 PM in-game time for the entrance to appear. This time-gated mechanic rewards patient players and increases average playtime.
What are the best biomes for progression?
For new players, stick to Grasslands and Forest until you can afford a Steel Net ($600). Progress through River ($500), Jungle ($5,000), and Crawlwood ($15,000) before attempting harder zones. Use our Biome Recommender to find the best zone for your level and equipment.
Purchases & Gamepasses
What gamepasses are worth buying?
The Sell Anywhere gamepass (19 Robux) is essential for serious players as it doubles farming efficiency by eliminating travel time. Extra Luck (299 Robux) is worth it if you're grinding for Supreme or Zenith bugs. VIP and Double XP are optional depending on your play style.
Are there any promo codes for Catch Bugs?
No, there are currently no active promotional codes for Catch Bugs. The developers have intentionally not implemented a code system to protect the game's economy. Be wary of YouTube clickbait videos claiming to have working codes - they are algorithmic exploitation designed to generate views.
